Special Events

Our Council hosts a number of special events each year. From awards ceremonies to educational conferences, we are always planning something to engage our community and help us in our mission of building girls of confidence, courage and character.

Beyond badge-earning activities and camp adventures, we hold a number of special events each year – some are activities for girls and their families, some for adult volunteers and some for the community. You can explore them all, through the links below. 

A Girl’s World

A Girl’s World: Today and Tomorrow, is our annual an educational conference focused on issues girls face in today’s constantly changing world and ways to equip them for success in their future.

Annual Meeting

Girl Scout representatives from every neighborhood, other interested girl and adult members and the Board of Directors meet annually to celebrate the year’s accomplishments and discuss goals for the coming year.

Girl Scouts National Convention

Every three years, Girl Scouts gather for the National Convention to celebrate our accomplishments and chart our future. The next convention will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah in October 2014.

Pearl Awards

The Pearl Awards recognize the outstanding contributions made by our Girl Scout volunteers to support the council-wide efforts to deliver programs and services to our girl and adult members.

Thin Mint Sprint

This annual event gives Girl Scouts, their family and friends the chance to get active together! Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just want to stroll, you’ll enjoy the fun at the 5K Thin Mint Sprint.

Swing for the Scouts

Help build the future of Girl Scouts by participating in Swing for the Scouts. Enjoy a day of golf while helping to raise funds to transform Camp Sombrero into a beautiful Leadership Center for Girls and Women.

Women & Young Women of Distinction

The Women & Young Women of Distinction luncheon honor current and former Girl Scouts, and community members who have made Arizona a better place.

World Thinking Day

On World Thinking Day, girls participate in activities and projects tied to global themes as a reminder that Girl Scouts are part of a global community.
